DEAR SOURCE: Undermining Ourselves
April 4, 2014
Dear Source...do you know what happens when you make a soul pledge to yourself only to have it undermined? Usually something goes wrong and there is pain and suffering along the way - is this the soul's way to garner our attention?
This happened to a friend of mine who desired to create a specific happy event for a special occasion only to be "persuaded" to do something else by her well meaning friends. She really did not want to do what the group wanted, and, against her inner will, she was a nice girl and went with the new plan.
The result? She ended up injured and may need surgery. All because she is a pleaser - she loves people so much and does not want to put her desires in the forefront, so she went with the crowd against her own inner wishes and good judgement. Arrrggghhh! How many times do we all do this?
We know what is best for us, and still we go along with the crowd only to remember we knew better for ourselves. Does this mean we need to be selfish and only go our own way? Or does this mean we need to find other ways to please ourselves, our soul, our spirit, and our friends? I hope to find a useful answer, thanks, Suzie..
