The Fear of Showing Up
July 21, 2014
Dear Clare & Posey,
Recently the desire to create a new project has cropped up. However, the fear of showing up has the capacity of stopping me in my tracks. Can you help me with this?
Clare: Whenever you enter a new phase in your live, be it a relationship, motherhood, the passing of a parent, or this new project, you tend to constrict. I am saying this for all humans. You might get very excited at the prospect, but then, when you start, somehow you begin to remember failure more than success. This is simply a human trait – I am sure Posey will address this.
What I have to say is: GO FOR IT! Put your heart and soul (that’s me) into the formatting, keep the intention sound and loving, feel into the people who receive your product and energetically infuse this project with the reason you want to do it. When the fear monster steps into your mind, watch it, respect it, but do not let it control you. You are the one who can make this project happen. If you listen intently to you own inner voice of love and expansion, it will happen. It will happen, it will. It is up to you to face the voices inside and decide if caving into fear is easier than stepping up to a bigger picture of yourself. We (those of us in the realm of potentialities and possibilities) believe in you, we always have, and we always will.
Posey: Here’s the deal – when you start fantasizing about a new project, you can get into a lot of trouble. You can fail – do you hear that? Yes, you can fail, like you have in the past. I am here to remind you of those times. Clare says she believes in you, so do I. But I believe in you as a safe and secure human, not a fancy creator of something you know just a bit about. Maybe you should study the subject for a few years? Get a degree, get more knowledge. Who are you to give information to people?
See, these are the questions I, the ego throw at you. I am not being mean or trying to make you unhappy, I am just stating that you have tried something like this years ago, and remember what happened. Yes, I thought you would. I mean, it could work, but really, do you want to put in your time and energy into something that is only a could? You can only do so much in this life, at least from my point of view. I will keep you safe for sure, but it is by imposing fear thoughts in your mind during odd moments of the day and in your dreams. Look for me, I am always there.
