. . . soulful musings and mindful reflections on everyday living

Dear Clare & Posey
Can you explain this idea of “vibes” and how they affect us?
Clare: As an aware being, you can tune in to feel vibes or energy which may feel like a faint change or charge both inside outside your personal field due to another’s physical, mental or emotional state. By the field, I mean that space that designates you as a distinct individual. There are many layers in this field called the aura. When aware, you can start to feel the differences in the energy fields of others as well as yourself. Walking into a room, sometimes you are inexplicitly drawn to a person you have never noticed or known before. Conversely, you can be repelled away from the vibes of a character wanting something from you. Becoming aware and moving from energy that feels off or negative or towards energy that feels inviting is one way to recognize how subtle these vibes can be, and how your soul reacts. Your soul instantly recognizes delight or danger before your logical self. We are given free will in this human form to understand and work with tools to be alert to either.
Posey: I am not sure about vibes – didn’t that pass with the 70’s? I consider vibes and energy field stuff as floofy or flaky ie, I cannot be sure it is real, and I only operate on what I perceive as real. When I enter a room and see someone who might want to put me off, I will go towards them, cozy up and try to persuade them to be my friend or join with me in whatever I am creating. I will ignore the obvious body or emotional signals that they may want to walk away, as I feel I know what is best for me and for them. In my most egotistical manner (and, I do not always operate this way, just once in a while), I might corner them to persuade them about my particular agenda. I use my determination and will to make a situation work for me, whether it leads me to danger or delight. If it ends in delight, that is great. If it ends in danger, I will most likely blame them.
