. . . soulful musings and mindful reflections on everyday living
What diverts us?
March 5, 2015
Dear Source…I notice so many people, me included, who for some reason need a distraction from every day work and life. So, what do we do? We indulge our precious time on: facebook, youtube, instagram, on-line games,TV, but rarely in person conversations that matter. What is going on in our over indulged world? It is crazy and disconnected yet connected in some odd way. It makes us feel so important when someone comments or likes our posts, or when our cell phones are busy all day long. Geez – where is the time for peace, quiet, reflection, mediation, inner soul work? It is all taken up with mindless rather than mindful activities. Maybe we need a two week vacation (or one week, or one day or one hour) from our electronic devices and get out for a walk/talk with a valued friend, or cooking up a new and delicious meal (which of course you found on pinterest) or asking a friend over for a long conversation dinner, or starting a garden or who knows? The list is endless, yet we are held captive by these external mind-numbing devices. I do not pretend to know the answers I just needed to get this off my crazy numbed mind! Thanks for listening, your friend, Suzie…
